Based on the the release notes, it looks like the developer has been really busy! iTiVo 1.6b5 iTiVo 1.6b4 I finally got around to installing pyTiVo on my MacBook Pro (running Leopard 10.5.5). Unlike the Windows install, installing pyTiVo on a Mac isn’t all that easy. The instructions on pyTiVo’s website were very helpful however, I thought I would publish the following instructions since I think they’re a more complete. For those of you who don’t know, here’s a brief description of pyTiVo taken from the software’s official website: pyTivo is both an HMO and GoBack server. Similar to TiVo Desktop pyTivo loads many standard video compression codecs and outputs mpeg2 video [...] If you’re a Mac user like me, you’re probably frustrated with how TiVoToGo currently works on your Mac. Right now, if you want to playback a .tivo file you either have to purchase the officially supported solution (Roxio Toast/Popcorn) or use an unsupported utility such as TiVo Butler which strips the DRM from the .tivo [...] Recently I stumbled upon yet another TiVoToGo client for the Mac called TiVo Butler. In the short amount of time that I’ve used this app I’ve already fallen in love with it. Unlike some of the other TiVoToGo Mac clients, TiVo Butler organizes your TiVo’s recordings into groups so that you can easily select which [...] I just finished installing TiVo Desktop version 2.6.
