Today is the first day you can take advantage of the the $200 Series 3 rebate that I blogged about back on 05/21 .

Thanks to this rebate, you now can get a Series 3 TiVo for $406.95 ($606.95- $200). $406.95 really is a reasonable price price for the Series 3. If I wasn’t one referral away from getting a Series 3 TiVo, I probably would take TiVo up on this offer.

The details of the rebate are as follows:

Several sites are reporting that TiVo has plans to offer a $200 rebate on the Series 3 TiVo. The rebate form (DVRUpgrade.com, PDF) states that the rebate is valid from May 27th to June 16th. If all stays the same, this could mean that you will be able to get a Series 3 TiVo for ~$400 ($606.95- $200)!

While $400 is a good deal for the Series 3, I think I am going to wait and see if I can get two more referrals so that I can get the Series 3 for free. This is the lowest I’ve ever seen the Series 3. It looks like Gizmodo may have been correct when they said we would see the Series 3 price drop.

$500 is still a lot of money but it has me thinking that I should get a Series 3. I’m currently using a Time Warner DVR for my HD content however, I’m extremely unhappy with the DVR. The only thing that is nice about my SA 8300 is that I didn’t have to pay anything up front and if it breaks all I have to do is go down to my cable company’s local office and pick up another one.

Dell is offering one hell of a deal on the Series 3 TiVo. For $588.16 you can get a Series 3 TiVo with free shipping! This deal is almost too good to be true and it seriously has me thinking about picking up one for myself. In order to get the lower price, you need to add it to your shopping cart. According to TCO, this offer is only good through 12/21 @ 7AM CST.

Effective today, TiVo is now offering a $220 rebate for the standard Series 2 TiVo and a $180 rebate for the Dual-Tuner and DVD burning TiVos.

Here’s a snippet taken directly from the rebate form:

This is the best deal I’ve seen in a long time. The rebate form isn’t up on TiVoRebates.com however, Weaknees has a copy of the rebate form which I’m sure you can use. Unfortunately, the offer doesn’t allow you to get a rebate off of the Series 3 TiVo but I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up seeing a rebate offer before the start of the holiday shopping season.
