Test Driving TiVo Mobile

Thus far, I’ve been extremely happy with TiVo Mobile.  In fact, I’ve gone ahead and bookmarked the site directly on my iPod touch’s home screen.  Here’s several screenshots that I took earlier today while I was test driving the application.

Let me know what you think of TiVo Mobile and if you plan on using it on a regular basis.

DVR Shows: “Now Playing List” On Your iPhone/iPod Touch

Have you ever wanted to find out what your TiVo has recorded without actually having to turn on your TV?  If you answered yes to this question, you probably should checkout an application called: DVR Shows.  For those of you who don’t know, DVR Shows is an iPhone application which allows you to view what your TiVo has recorded (think “Now Playing List”).  In my opinion, this application is a great deal for only 99 cents (opens in iTunes).  I’ve used this app a couple of times while I was on the treadmill and I wanted to see what I had available on my TiVo.  Check it out and let me know what you think…

Introducing DVRPics (iPhone Pics On Your TiVo)

TiVoCommunity recently introduced me to a neat little iPhone app which allows your TiVo to display photos that are stored on your iPhone/iPod touch.  The application is called DVRPics and it is available for 99 cents via the iTunes AppStore (opens in iTunes).

DVRPics doesn’t have a lot of features however, the features that it does have work well.  Basically all you have to do is select a photo on your iPhone that you would like to view on your TiVo.  Once a photo is selected, head on over to your TiVo and access the following menu: Music Photos, Products & More —>Photos on “Your iPhone/iPod Touch”.

Take a look at the following screenshots and let me know what you think about this app.  I think it’s a fun app especially for 99 cents…..

What Video Podcasts Do You Subscribe To?

Being the geek that I am, I’m constantly looking for new video podcasts that I can watch on my TiVo & iPod touch. Here’s a list of the video podcasts that I currently subscribe to. Let me know if I’m missing something that I should add to my list…

Holiday Guru Guides Now Available On TiVo Central Online

TiVoShanan just alerted me to the fact that TiVo has added a number of Holiday Guru Guides to TiVo Central Online. These guides will allow you to schedule a recording for many of the best Holiday shows with just one click.  Currently, there are four Guru Guides available:

Right now, I am blogging this from my iPod touch so, I am not able to link to the guides or TiVoShanan’s post on TC. I’ll update this post tomorrow morning with these links. I need to get to bed since my son will probably be up in five short hours. Sorry for an incomplete post. Check back tommorow if you don’t want to find the guides on your own.

I Can’t Wait To Try TiVoToGo On The iPod touch

iPod touch TiVoToGoWhen Apple announced the iPod touch last week I was extremely excited. The touch is exactly what I’ve been looking for ever since Apple came out with the iPhone. For those of you who don’t know, the iPod touch is essentially an iPhone without the phone and camera features. Yesterday, I finally got around to ordering a 16 GB iPod Touch. The device is supposed to ship the end of this month.

How is this related to TiVo you ask? Well, I currently use TiVoToGo for most of the video content on my 80GB iPod video. The iPod touch is even better at playing video than the 80GB iPod so, I am excited to see how TiVoToGo content will look on the device. I expect that I’ll watch even more TiVoToGo content once I start using the touch. Stay tuned for more information. I’ll probably post a little review once my iPod touch arrives.
