This weekend Amazon Unbox has made available six movies for 99 cents. The six movies are: 300, Shooter, TMNT, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, Conversations with Other Women, and Mujeres Infieles / Unfaithful Women. All shows can be downloaded via the Amazon Unbox website or by access Amazon Unbox directly from your TiVo.
To be honest, I’m really not interested in renting any of these movies. I’m probably going to pass on this weekend’s specials and hope for some better movies next weekend.
Amazon Unbox is running yet another weekend sale. This weekend, you can download the following movies for 99 cents: Ghost Rider, The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, Catch and Release, Norbit and Breach. All shows can be downloaded via the Amazon Unbox website or by access Amazon Unbox directly from your TiVo.
I really enjoy TiVo’s latest feature which allows you to rent an Amazon Unbox movie directly from the comfort of your couch. In this video, I went ahead and ordered a movie so that you can see how easy it is to use this new feature. The movie took approximately two hours to download over my DSL connection.
Overall I am extremely happy with Unbox On TiVo. I only wish that a rental wouldn’t delete itself 24 hours after you start watching it. For me this is problem since I can’t guarantee that I will be able to watch the entire video in a 24 hour period.
According to this article, TiVo is going to release a new feature which will allow you to order Amazon Unbox movies directly from your TiVo. The article states that the feature will be available starting Tuesday (today?) however, I don’t see it available on my TiVo just yet. Let me know when your TiVo gets this capability and how it works.
ALVISO, Calif. (AP) — Users of TiVo Inc.’s digital video recorders will be able to order movies from Amazon.com Inc. directly from their TVs starting Tuesday.
The two companies partnered in March to deliver Amazon’s Unbox download service to TiVo machines, but the feature required customers to place their orders on a computer through Amazon’s Web site.
Now, PC intervention won’t be needed. The new “Buy on TV” feature allows TiVo users to search Amazon’s video catalog and rent or purchase titles using their TiVo’s remote control.
The feature works for owners of TiVo Series2 and Series3 broadband-connected DVRs.
The new feature is the latest example of how companies — including Microsoft Corp., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Apple Inc. — are trying to find ways to deliver online videos to customers’ living rooms.
In conjunction with the new feature, TiVo developed a safeguard so users would have to punch in a five-digit password to complete the transaction, said Jim Denney, TiVo’s vice president of product marketing.
“We wanted to avoid the baby sitter scenario where you come home to find a bunch of movies on your TiVo that you didn’t order,” he said.
TiVo is getting creative with their offers. This time, TiVo is offering a $15 Amazon Unbox credit plus a free factory refurbished TiVo wireless adapter ($41.78) to anybody who buys a 80 or 180 hr dual tuner Series 2 TiVo from TiVo’s website. The offer ends July 23rd.
This isn’t a bad deal especially if you’ve been wanting to check out Amazon Unbox (which I highly recommend you do). The offer also includes free shipping which is a plus…
If you decide to take advantage of this offer, I would appreciate it if you put me down as your referrer (raianoat AT gmail DOT com) when you activate your TiVo.
I just received an email from Amazon letting me know that several popular movies are available for 99 cents this weekend only. Check it out if you want to download some great movies directly to your TiVo…
