Yup, I plug my iPhone into my bedroom TiVo at night.
No, but I charge my PS3 controllers with my Tivo.
1 USB port is reserved for the flakey, sucky SDV Tuning Adapter. The other is reserved for the not really 802.11g TiVo wireless adapter.
We’ve got matching charging cables on matching nightstands for our two iPhones. We also have two remotes. The Glo is mine, she gets the regular one.
Are you serious? People actually do this? Why wouldn’t you just use the wall outlet??
That could be very handy when adding a dock to your entertainment system. One less thing to plug into an outlet.
I power my HDMI switch off of the Tivo’s USB port.

I know another hack! You can charge iPhone from a regular outlet! Wow, I guess nobody knew this is possible!
For those asking why… Because the cord comes with any ipod, and it’s likely you’ve already got one lying around. The charging block (the little piece that plugs into the wall) is $15-30 depending on where you find it. This is clever is nothing else.

I use the USB port to power a laptop cooling fan that’s placed under the TiVo. It’s a slim design with a couple fans in it and it helps keep the TiVo running cool in the equipment tower.
