Do you use KidZone?  I have it enabled on one of my DVRs however, I mostly use it so that my son doesn’t see some garbage on TV if he inadvertently hits the power button on the remote.  I’m sure that in another year or two I’ll truly benefit from KidZone and all of its features.

Yes we use KidZone for that purpose. The TiVo that it is on is the one my toddler uses to watch PBS. He’ll use the remote to switch from Thomas and Friends, Caillou, and other. We don’t need him turning the channel and seeing something we don’t think he needs to see.
It’s a real nice feature. We have it on our one S2 unit and the number one feature I wish it had was full folder play like our S3 and HD unit do.

  • We love KidZone. When my daughter turned 4, we taught her how to use the remote to turn on the tv, select her shows, and let us sleep in a bit longer. :) We even printed out a cheat sheet of a picture of the show’s characters and the words that make up the title of the show. We figure it’ll help her associate words and what they mean, if nothing else, she’ll have to compare letters to get the right show.
