Last night, I finally got around to watching the Amazon Video On Demand (VOD) movie (The Dark Knight)that I downloaded a little over a month ago. Overall I was really impressed with the both the audio and video quality (granted I’m no Ben Drawbaugh). The next time I’m looking for a HD movie to watch, I’ll definitely consider renting from Amazon VOD.
What do yo think about Amazon VOD on TiVooffering HD video downloads? Have you had a chance to try out the service?
- The Dark Knight (Via Amazon VOD on TiVo)
- 5.74 GBs
- Video Quality (actual quality was better than what this image portrays)

HA!
Seriously, if the files are almost 6GB, they’d better look pretty good. Still not as cheap and good as Blu-ray, but it’s nice to have another source of HD.
I knew that my link would get you to chime in
. Have you had a chance to checkout the video quality? I’d like to hear what you have to say…
I’ve been downloading from Amazon VOD for a long time. I finally tried the HD download by renting “Wanted”. Boy did that movie suck, but I thought the quality was great!
I don’t get when Ben says its “still not as cheap” as blue ray… my movie rental was 5 bucks. Doesn’t get much cheaper than that! Does it?
the DD 5.1 audio in the HD downloads are a mess. Center channel audio from all surround speakers. Best thing is Amazon does not understand what is wrong
