Earlier today, TiVo announced that they have launched an update to TiVo Central Online. Included in this BETA update is the ability to view your TiVo’s Now Playing and To Do Lists.
Before you get too excited, you probably should know that these two features are currently only available for TiVo HD customers. I sent TiVo a tweet about this limitation however, I have yet to hear anything back. That being said, I really do think that you should check out these updates. Also, make sure that you let TiVo know if you encounter any problems or if you have any questions/suggestions.

that’s awesome. it’s been needed for a long time. my question is how often will the to do list be updated? i made a bunch of changes to my to do list this evening (i’m going out of town and cut out all the fluff so i could make sure there was room for playoff games with extra extra buffer on the end) and the online to do list wasn’t updated. i connected my tivo to the network again but didn’t see it updated. i obviously don’t expect it to be instant (although it could) but i hope it’s not too long for the updates.
Just a point of clarification – this works with Series 3 as well. The note about working for TiVo HD only made it sound like it wouldn’t work with Series 3. Now to get the ability to delete shows, but this is still a great improvement.
Good point. That being said, I am having an issue with getting my To Do List to show up for my Series 3. I sent TiVo a tweet about this so we’ll see what happens…
Very cool update, although its a little disappointing you can’t make changes to your now playing list from the web. It would be really cool to be able to “Keep until I delete” from outside the house…
Agree. It seems like that’s the next logical step for this new functionality.
I’m at work. When I go to “My Now Playing List” on the web, and I see all those programs that are there on MY TiVo at home, it’s soooo tempting that I should be able to click on one and watch it right now on my computer. Of course, it does not work like that… but maybe THAT’s “the next logical step for this new functionality.”
I know the technical issue — the upstream bandwidth of my Cable Modem is nowhere as high as the downstream bandwidth — but still, it’s like I am being teased.
TiVo hasn’t been adding new features to Series2 for a long time. We get all the hot new advertisement updates, of course… but no YouTube.
