Here’s a roundup of some the questions that I received over the past couple of days.  As always, feel free to send in a question, comment or suggestion using this site’s feedback form or via Twitter.

Are you experiencing any digital “glitching” on SDV channels? It seemed really bad the first day and not as bad lately but I have not noticed any problems on non SDV channels. I’ve been watching a lot of Discovery and it just occasionally blocks up and drops audio. Haven’t seen it happen on non SDV channels but we just moved a couple weeks ago. Thanks!

My Response:

For the most part my SDV adapter has been working out great however, I have had pixelation and audio problems a couple of times while watching SDV content.  If I had to guess, I’d say that it has only happened twice in about a week.   Changing the channel or restarting the adapter seems to fix the issue.  Has anybody else experienced this problem?  If yes, what have you done to fix these issues?

I have a question about a big time issue with Tivo. I just got a brand new Tivo HD for xmas, my 2nd tivo I have a series 2 like 5 years old. I got it set up and quickly noticed a major issue with fast forward. The 1x fast forward does not fast forward at all, it mutes but plays at normal speed and ever so often jumps fast a bit. I watch a lot of sports especially hockey and with the old Tivo i could use the 1x when say one team iced the puck and up to the face off. Using this method I could quickly catch up to a live game by watching it after it started, this was GREAT. However, now i cannot do this and it takes essential the full length of the game to watch it minus commercials and intermission. This is horrible, do you know anything about this issue? If you google “tivo 1x fastforward” you will see this problem mentioned on a message board. Is this a problem with select TivoHD’s or is it an across the board issue?? You have a TivoHD i believe from reading your site frequently, does yours do this on 1x? I can probably still return it, although i did activate a lifetime service on it. Any help you can provide me on this would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to know if this is a blanket problem with all TivoHDS’ or not. Seems if it was there would be more of an uproar on the Tivo message boards, so perhaps its just select tivo’s?

My Response:

It looks like you found an answer to your problem and I’m glad you did.  I did not know this was an issue and that the Cable Companies provided information that TiVo than uses for fast forwarding.  I guess you learn something new every day….
