This app solves a future issue for me.

Question…can the app control the TV’s on/off, volume, & mute controls, the way a real TiVo remote can?

TiVo DVRs do output xml that provides some information about your TiVo however, I don’t believe that you can access your TiVo’s todo list using this feature.

If one can send commands thru the network to the TiVo, is there a way to pull data back out? To see the ToDo list and other menu items?
One app, PC/Mac based that would let you see multiple TiVo ToDo lists would be great, to let you see the upcoming week or two at a glance and not risk recording one show on 2 or 3 TiVos.

I got the App and actually have a use for it. The TV in our dining room is wired to one of the TiVos in our living room. Now I can control it (including 30 second jump). I couldn’t be happier. Well I could have been at first if it had told me I needed to enable network remote control on the TiVo before it would work.

This is also a great practical joke tool. I set up a freinds TiVo some time back and now I can stand outside the window to his house and send him messages from God via his TiVo. Plus, I can stop by his house and add different shows that I know he won’t like to his season pass list.

Is there a new protocol to control HD Tivos directly via TCP/IP? From the little information provided, I’m guessing that must be the case. Part of the new 11.x firmware?

Anyone see any mentioned of the protocol and what else one can do?

I’m assuming because of the keyboard screen shot that this can’t be IR based, unless there are hidden IR codes for each letter of the alphabet.

This thing needs to have a channel switcher with logos for the different channels like the higher end touch screen remotes have.
