In the Ben Stiller movie Tropic Thunder where he plays Tugg Speedman, Matthew McConaughey shows up in the jungle with a TiVo machine that he promised his actor client Tugg he’d have while on location shooting his movie. He shows up and has to toss it up in the air in front of a rocket that’s about to blow up the helicopter Tugg and the other actors are riding in. Go TiVo!

Yup – they definitely used the TiVo as the crazy perk that the demanding actor needed on location. Would a TiVo even work in Southeast Asia?
I don’t think it would work in Southeast Asia. Maybe that is why it was unplugged
