WeaKnees recently announced that they now offer a backup system for TiVo HD and TiVo HD XL DVRs. According to their blog post, WeaKnees is able to backup your TiVo’s data through the use of two hard drives in a RAID 1 configuration. The hard drives are bundled together inside an enclosure which connects to your TiVo using its eSATA port. The enclosure is equipped with several lights which indicate the health of each of the drives.
You might want to look into this product if you’re really serious about protecting the contents of your TiVo. The 320GB X 320GB configuration goes for $279 which, in my opinion is actually a good deal. Let me know if you purchase one of these enclosures. I’d love to hear how it works…..
