Time Warner Cable Switched Digital Video Tuner (Central New York)

A fellow Central New Yorker by the name of Brian recently contacted me to let me know that our local Time Warner now has a page available which allows you to request a FREE SDV adapter.  Unfortunately, just like Brian, I’m not having much success with using the request form.  For some reason whenever I enter my information I receive an error (similar to a 404). My only option now is to call Time Warner (1.866.310.3283) to see if I can request an adapter the “old fashion” way.

In any case, it’s great to see that my local Time Warner is getting ready to distribute SDV adapters.  Stay tuned, I’ll be sure to let you know when I call Time Warner….

Thank you for your request for the SDV Tuning Adapter. Your Pre-Order has been received. At this time the Tuning Adapter is not available to the public but is currently undergoing testing to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction upon release; which we will begin deployments later this year. We do not have a specific release date for your area, but once the Tuning Adapter becomes available a service representative will contact you to schedule the installation.

    Thank you,

looks like this is just some kind of survey thing. all you need to put in is a name, state, and email adress. probably just a placeholder. when they really come out there will probably be something else for us to do, not to mention someone for us to have to pay.
