Video Of The Day: How To Add More Space To Your TiVo
I upgraded my Series 3 a while ago however, I didn’t use the InstantCake solution that was shown in this video. I gotta say I am surprised that CNET put up a howto for something that both voids the warranty and exposed the user to an electrocution hazard in an exposed unshielded power supply without mentioning either concern! They even recommend booting the TiVo with the upgraded hard drive with the cover off, ensuring that that power supply has current flowing through it.
