    I think this video misses the most interesting part of the “inside” of a TIVO.

    When my TIVO 1 died I took it apart and found interesting how many “dedicated” chips TIVO use for everything it does. Unlike a circuit board people are used to on a desktop PC, the older versions of TIVO did a lot of work usings chips NOT software.

    This is why I find using a PC as a DVR such a stupid idea, dedicated chips should be better than software.
