Someone obviously has nothing better to do than sit home and watch daytime television. My wife does this stuff with Guiding Light. I probably have 3 weeks worth in there at any given time. Get yourself a copy of Galleon or Tivo desktop and set it up on a PC and auto-download those things from the TIVO, and then purge all that garbage out of there.
