I am not dissappointed, but that's because I already own a Series3. I would assume though, that if TiVO was planning to scrap the Series3, that they would upgrade the TiVO HD at some point.

I was wondering why they didn't discontinue it when the more consumer friendly TiVo HD was introduced?

I've owned a S3 unit for just over a year now (I'm mostlt an early adopter so I realize I pay the premium to be one). It's a sweet unit, but really aimed at the high end home theatre market, which TiVo never targeted previously.

I guess they're just acknowledging their consumer/mass market roots/ambitions
