I think you must make sure to be playing a pre-recorded program
when you program the remote control with the SPS30S sequence..

Thanks Alex, Maybe the problem is with the code input on the remote. I’ll keep trying.

I thought with the fall software update (last week) maybe it stopped working.

Glad it worked for you. SPS30S can be a hard remote combination to get right. I’ve done it before where it didn’t work for me either.

Your are right… SPS30S works on the XL! I must have done something wrong before. I tried 9 ways to Sunday to get it working and I was bombing out somehow. I saw your note tonight and tried it again (twice), and it worked the second time. Thanks!

Any luck finding a 30 sec jump in the newer TiVo HD XL? SPS30S works with my old TiVo but not with my XL!

This is not a hack. It is an undocumented feature or at worst an easter egg. To call it a hack is giving the person that enables it WAY too much credit.

You just re-enter the SPS30S code – it is a toggle. And in the latest software a restart does *not* reset it, it survives a reboot now.

Same for SPS9S, SPS7S, SPSIRS, and such.
