Amazon Unbox Weekend SaleAmazon.com has two great deals that I thought you might be interested in….

This weekend only you can download the following scary Unbox moviesto your TiVo all for only 99 cents: Blades of Glory, Return to House on Haunted Hill, Perfect Creature, Perfect Stranger, The Messengers, The Abandoned, Haunted Forest & The Evil Dead.

Along with these Unbox movies, Amazon is also offering a great deal on a 80 hr. Series 2 dual-tuner TiVo. Unlike the last dual-tuner deal that I blogged about, this deal is legit. Essentially the deal will allow you to get a Series 2 TiVo plus $100 worth of TiVo service all for only $99! To take advantage of this offer, all you have to do is head on over to Amazon.comand purchase the DVR using the “Buy both and save” button which is located halfway down the page.

For what it’s worth, my husband and I mailed in our paperwork for the rebate on our Big Lots! Tivo purchase, and I’ve gotten back an e-mail confirmation from Tivo that it qualified for rebate. So I get the impression that the fuss over whether it qualified or not was unwarranted.

Would love to know who TivoPony was that first said they wouldn’t qualify, and what he based that statement on.

  2.  Crafting Jen says:

Oops…scratch that. I decided to go track the rebate - even though they sent me e-mail saying it was accepted, the information at the rebate tracking center tells me it was denied. So, in the words of Emily Litella, “never mind.”

  3.  Michael Maggard says:

TivoPony is the TiVo employee tasked with monitoring & representing TiVo to the “community forum” TiVo recommends, uses, but takes no responsibility for. Is what he says “official”? I’m sure the SEC would be curious too, but the best description would probably be ‘informed’.

That said, many folks are reporting a quick call to the rebate company fixes things.

Failing that consider making a call to your state agency responsible for consumer protection and false advertising; they’ll cut through any red tape for you.
