I am a Cablevision subscriber. I’d like my name and contact info remain anonymous.
Cablevision provides poor and outdated service.
1. Their programs are most of the time and in most channels, always late, that is, if a program is supposed to start at a certain time, most of the times it starts 10 to 15 minutes late. As a consequence, if you consult the ‘guide’ it may be the case that what you are watching is not what is scheduled at that time. But this is NOT what I mean by outdated, if you may, keep on reading …
2. Most enevering is that their audio and video are oftentimes (particularly in their US channels) out of synchrony (out of phase), that is, you first see people on tv move their lips and then you hear what they are saying. This problem is constant and it is very common at night (after 9 pm or so).
3. Their programs are outdated. Their movie and series channels (such as fox or cinema golden whatever) transmit very old shows as their most attractive shows to watch. This is ridiculous. Their movies and shows are about 10 years old. I find this very insulting to subscribers.
4. Dubbed shows such as the excellent documentaries in the History or Discovery channels are so badly translated/dubbed that I wonder if it had not been better to just incorporate captions.
In essence, I think people should start asking for a service that is worth their money. Things such as the one described in points 2 and 3 above might be avoided if one had Sky. So I suggest people forget about Cablevision’s insulting service and swtich to a dish. I do not work for the dish company so don’t get me wrong, like I said before, I am a Cablevision subscriber and I am very dissappointed in their service, it is a shame.
