Call For Help: Why Does TiVoDesktop Not Like OS X’s Preview?
![]()
Recently I noticed that TiVoDesktop was having a difficult time rendering thumbnails for certain images (screenshots to the left). After spending some time investigating the problem, I came to the conclusion that all of the images that are “broken” where at one point rotated using OS X’s Preview on my MacBook. For some reason TiVoDesktop does not like how I rotate and then save the image using Preview.
Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Yes! I experienced a similar problem tonight, but it was not due to rotated images. I just took several hundred photos at Disney on two different digital cameras, and the thumbnails would show up, but the full size versions were “broken” like the right hand image shows the “broken” photo. I then went to see if other images in iPhoto had the same “broken” problem, and yes in fact most others did. The only images that were not “broken” were those taken with my iPhone!!! Which makes me think that the full size images were not coming across to the Tivo if they were hi-res (the iPhone photos are not very hi-res at all). So my theory is that the higher res photos will come across as thumbnails, but will be displayed as “broken” in the full size rendering. Why does Tivo have to be such a hassle for Macs…

YES! I’m having the same problem as Jay, but can not seem to find any commonality to why some photos wills show full size and others will not. MOST won’t! Is there any solution to this problem? Help!
