Anybody Want A Broken TiVo?
Remember back in October of last year when I blogged about my Mom’s broken Series 2 TiVo? Well, I was wondering if anybody wanted it? Based on the comments I received, it appears as though the DVR needs a new power supply.
If you’d like to own a broken TiVo, all you need to do is place a comment on this post. If multiple people comment, I will randomly select a winner. All comments must be entered by Tuesday (7/31) @ 12:00AM EDT. I will pay shipping as long as the winner is in the continental United States.

Hi. I’ve got a power supply somewhere in my storage room, so I’d be happy to have your Mom’s old TiVo. If I’m able to repair it, I’ll pass it on to someone without a TiVo who’d appreciate it. Thanks.
I wouldn’t mind having a TiVo to hack again - I used to have my S2 hacked, but let it upgrade one day for new features (thus replacing my hacks). My Dad and brother are both electricians - I’ll get them to fix the power supply for me. I’m a software guy =p
I wouldn’t mind one to work on as well, especially to MRV with my DTivo and use 7.x and 8.x features. But if Martin has the stuff on hand to fix it, I’d pass and let him have a crack at it.
I have been wanting a TiVo. A friend of mine knows how to put a new supply in them so add me to the list of those hoping to be selected. Thanks for making it available. I will give it a nice home if I am choosen.
I just got spooked at how well your adsense knows what I want. They did not get the broken Tivo Series 2 on there, but I too would give it a good home.
I have an old series 1 Tivo and should be able to scavenge the power supply from it. I’d be honored to bring your mom’s Tivo back to life.
I could use a spare for parts — I’ve got TWO units failing at the moment (in-laws and one of mine) that I could probably get all in top shape with enough parts !
