why would they ruin the TiVo remote with those stupid A, B, C, D (triangle, circle, etc.) buttons? The whole point of the TiVo remote is that you don’t have to LOOK at it when using it. You go by feel, and you use only the cursor and select. You have to LOOK at those A/B/C/D buttons in order to use them. Lame.

It sure as hell looks a lot better then my TW dvr remote.
Andy – because they are required to. *All* OCAP remotes MUST have the A/B/C/D buttons, it is a requirement for OCAP compliance. Since the box may support other OCAP applications, and OCAP requires the buttons be available for developers to rely on.
And, having seen the remote in person at CES, it isn’t bad. They don’t get in the way, and you can find them by feel.

When? This was supposed to be available last year!
