By not offering satellite tv capability, like the series 2 have, they've just shut themselves out of a large and ever-growing market while simultaneously locking themselves into the shrinking cable market. Who cares if it's HD, really, if you can't get satellite broadcasts with it. I for one, would have upgraded for the $199 they are offering to give me the new series, three and transfer my lifetime subscription. Just paying that for what would have been an upgrade to a 300 gig drive and be able to store way more hours of standard def broadcasts would have been a clincher in and of itself, never mind the HD capability. But not working with my DirecTV service ruins the whole thing. I mean, here they had an upgrade cheaper than going to weaKnees, I get to keep my lifetime and get to keep my old DVR too with free service on that for one year. Like I said, that's a bargain I was ready to take and jazzed about it too! Then I find it won't work on my system like my current Humax DVR with DirecTV or Dish and I'm sunk. Back to considering the pricey weaKnees guys. I'm bummed and I think TiVo made a big mistake on this one. I'm sure no one will read this. Oh well, I had to carp somewhere.
