According to TiVoJerry (a TiVo employee), there will be a couple of changes to the items available on TiVo rewards starting tomorrow (10/12). My guess is that a Series 3 TiVo will be added to the list. How about you?
Some time on Friday, 10/13, there will be changes made to the items on TiVo Rewards.
The TiVo Rewards program will no longer offer the following items:
-TiVo Laptop Bag
- TiVo Watch
- Apple iPod Mini
There will be several point reductions as well as some new additions that we think many of you will like. If you want to order any of the items set to be removed, please do so by Thursday, 10/12 as the change could take place at any time on Friday. Check in later to see what the cool new stuff is! Anyone care to guess what will take the title of “latest and greatest”??

The other day my Mom gave me a call to let me know that the TiVo I gave her was broke. Like the good son that I am, I immediately went over to her house only to find out that it was broke :).
For some reason her TiVo doesn’t display anything on her TV and the lights on the front of the box are both orange (the picture makes it look like they are green and red but they aren’t). Does anybody know what might be wrong? Is her TiVo dead or do I just need to get her a new hard drive?

According to TiVoLovers, TiVo has released a minor software upgrade to the Series 3 TiVo (8.0.1a-01-2-648 –> 8.0.1b-01-2-648). It’s uncertain as to what the upgrade includes however, since it’s just a minor change in the version number, I would expect that the upgrade mainly contains bug fixes.

A business writer from the AP has put together an unfavorable review of some of TiVo’s newest features. I don’t normally cover unfavorable reviews but, I felt like I should cover this one since it brings up a couple of good points. Are some of the new features that TiVo has introduced better suited for the computer? For example, is it necessary to be able to order movie tickets from the comfort of your couch?
I’m not sure where I stand on this issue. Being the geek that I am, I like having all of these new features. However, when it comes down to it, does the average user (i.e.: my Mom) really need this functionality?

I’ve been extremely busy lately working on my bathroom and other important stuff. That being said, there has been a lot of important TiVo that I haven’t had time to cover.
