Time Warner Cable Will Support The Series 3 TiVo (Apologizes For Providing Misinformation)
Last week Time Warner Cable (TWC) of Raleigh, North Carolina said that they wouldn’t support CableCARDS in the Series 3 TiVo. This week they’ve contacted one of their frustrated customers to apologize and let him know that they would in fact support the Series 3 TiVo (mp3).
….once the tivo series 3 device are released we will be able to install a CableCARD for those devices as well as any other CableLabs certified devices…
I’d like to think that all the news that I provided on this site might have had something to do with TWC changing their policy and apologizing. Thanks for getting involved and letting TWC know that not supporting the Series3 TiVo isn’t an option.
Looks like it’s time to save for that Series 3 TiVo. How much are you willing to spend?
Thanks Billy, Digg here!

[...] HDBeat has several pictures of a Series 3 TiVo in the wild! Apparently these pictures were provided by somebody who is taking part in the Series 3 beta program. The device looks pretty much the same as what we saw at CES. Two cable card slots and a nifty display on the front. According to the individual who sent in the pictures, the device does not yet have TiVoToGo and the cable company had to go through four CableCARDs in order to get it to work (I wonder if they were using Time Warner). It does have HME functionality including Yahoo Web Stuff, Live 365, TiVo games as well as others. They haven’t started testing the eSATA drive yet and the biggest issue was the complexity of the CableCARD setup; big surprise. It took three visits from the local cable company and four cable cards before they were able to get all the premium channels working. [...]
