Wow That Was Quick! TiVo’s New Undelete Feature
Two days ago I went ahead and added my Mom’s DVR to the 7.2.2 priority list. For those of you who don’t know, 7.2.2 includes the undelete feature, an improved suggestions engine and updated network drivers so that you can now use the Linksys USB 200M v2. This morning when I went over to my parent’s house to drop off my son, My Mom told me that she received the a message yesterday letting her know that her TiVo was updated. Wow, that sure was quick! I didn’t expect her DVR to get the update for at least a week. How long did it take you to get 7.2.2? Have you added yourself to the priority list? If not, you really should, the undelete feature is pretty sweet!

I signed up for the priority list as soon as I saw the feature announced. It showed up on my bedroom TiVo (140-hour S2) over the weekend, and still hasn’t shown up on my TV room Humax DVD recorder TiVo.
Pity… my brother was visiting and deleted last week’s episode of “House” without knowing what he was doing. I hadn’t watched it yet.

How do we get informed of new priority lists? I think I’ve filled out the beta form.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t. I’ve tried it without any problems.

I don’t think TiVo has an email notification or anything like that. All you can really do is keep up to date with this site and TiVoCommunity.com.

[...] Tivo recently upgraded the Tivo service to include better suggestions. I am now being treated to a variety of new surprises on my TiVo every day. One of the most recent ones includes the “Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends” episode “Origin of the Spider-Friends.” Here’s a synopsis from Spider-Friends.com: While attending an inventors convention, where Tony Stark is demonstrating his new computer devised for crime detection, Peter Parker is mesmerized by the beauty of Angelica Jones. All of a sudden the Beetle bursts in through the ceiling to steal Stark’s invention. Peter changes to Spider-Man only to find Iceman and Firestar already on the scene. The Beetle escapes without the invention. Later, as Peter is talking to Angelica and her friend Bobby Drake in the Cafeteria, a fire breaks out in the science lab. Peter changes in a storage room. He begins to put out the fire as Spidey, and coincidentally Iceman and Firestar show up. That night, Peter finds that his camera took pictures when it was left in the storage room. What develops are pictures of Angelica turning into Firestar. This makes him realize that Bobby must be Iceman. The three decide to join forces while the Beetle kidnaps Tony Stark, giving The Beetle access to his newest invention, the Power Booster. [...]
