Check over at <a href="http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=3776830&&#post3776830">TiVoCommunity</a>

Looks like Tivo has a software solution, as well as a trivial work-around until they get the software out. Simply reboot your Tivo and everything will be happy.

Has nothing to do with overlap protection, or any software change, other than their last release. If you follow further in the thread, its uptime that causes the problem, meaning that a reboot will resolve.

TiVo Overlap Protection cost me the last couple of minutes of LOST this week... which is my #2 Wish List program, and had absolutely nothing conflicting with it at the end anyway. It just stopped recording for no apparent reason. WAKE UP AND FIX THIS, TIVO!!!

This isn't quite related, but I wonder why I cannot schedule a program and have a choice to "record this program, except where it overlaps with a another program." A good example of this is during the Olympics, which have 4 hour blocks. I might want to schedule that, but have a 30 min. program already scheduled during that time. What I have to do then is to schedule manually.

I just started having the problem about a week or so ago. Last night I, of course, Googled and found that, at least, I'm not alone.

What's most disturbing though, isn't the problem (it's technology - things break) but that TiVo still hasn't officially responded to the users and didn't even unofficially respond, it seems, for well over a month, based on the comments on some of the threads I've read.

I had the exact same problem. Even when shows had nothing bumping up against them the last few minutes would get cut off. I turned off overlap protection and now it works fine. It's stupid that Tivo hasn't fixed it, but I didn't use the overlap that much anyway.
