TiVo Desktop 2.1 Review
Here’s a review of TiVo Desktop 2.1
I see no reason for me to upgrade. If anything, I might switch to Galleon.

I haven’t seen any visual difference although my short experience (2 days worth = ~15GB transferred…) is that the application seems to be a little more reliable. I would have problems where upon starting the app it would hang for up to 5 minutes and then come back with an error stating the obvious (Tivo Desktop is taking longer than expected to load) but i have yet to see that now… but i agree i may look at galleon too…

I upgraded to 2.1 on my workstation machine because I have a Creative Zen PMC and they promised that the upgrade would allow me to transfer TiVO content onto the device. I installed the upgrade, rebooted and even cleared out my transfer cache in WMP 10 and I still am unable to sync TiVO content. I’d say stay with 2.0 until people work out the bugs, even though there is a hack to let you use Dr. DivX and TMPGenc with the new version (involves a hex editor and a DLL).
