Bloglines On Your TiVo

TiVo Bloglines

Are you as addicted to Bloglines as I am? Bloglines is one of my most favorite sites because it allows me to catch up with all the news that I am interested. Prior to Bloglines and RSS, I had to go to several different sites just to keep up with the news that I like to read. Now with Bloglines I am able to go to one place and get everything that I need. For those of you who don’t know what Bloglines is here is a definition directly from Bloglines.com:

Bloglines is a FREE online service for searching, subscribing, creating and sharing news feeds, blogs and rich web content. With Bloglines, there is no software to download or install…

Thanks to Scott over at the-mitchells.org I am now able to read my Bloglines subscriptions on my TiVo! I’ve been using this app for about a week now. It’s really convenient to be able to view my subscriptions without having to sit down at the computer. In my opinion, this app is a must for anybody who has a Bloglines account.

Maybe you should publish your full RSS feed so I can read the entier post in bloglines :-)

  • Scott’s page doesn’t seem to have a spot for comments, so I’ll leave one here and hope he sees it.

I agree that this could prove a fantastic little applet, but I can’t get it working. I’ve verified the email/password I’m using by manually logging into Bloglines, but Scott’s app keeps reporting “401 Authentication Required”.

  • Thanks for the plug Alex. I’m glad it’s proving useful to you. I have to admit I really just put it together as a way to play with the new Tivo API. I share your love for Bloglines, and with their API it makes it so easy to get data off the site that I thought it would be fun to play with. Now I just need to get some time to clean it up a bit. Let me know if you have any suggestions on that front.

    Roger,
If Scott doesn’t get back to you here then head on over to hme.pvrblog.com and ask your question there. Hopefully he comes back to this site often :) .

No problem! I like to recognize useful software when I find it. I too am a software developer so I know the time and energy that goes into creating a piece of software. I appreciate the time you’ve put into this app. Hopefully you will find more time to “clean it up.” Let me know if you have any updates. I am more then willing to mention them on this site.

    Thanks again!
