DirecTV Considering VOD Without TiVo!
Maybe the relationship with DirecTV isn’t that stable after all. According to this article, DirecTV is considering a VOD (Video On Demand) service however; they plan on doing it without TiVo!
This seems kind of crazy to me. Why wouldn’t DirecTV want to piggy back off of all the research and time TiVo will spend in the VOD market? Maybe they are really going to use their own DVR and take all the profit themselves?
